Carmina Burana se estrenó en Frankfurt en el año 1937. Ochenta años después sigue sonando en las salas de conciertos de todo el mundo. La obra más famosa de Carl Orff celebra el hedonismo, los placeres, el gozo por vivir… pero también muestra una crítica mordaz de la sociedad.
Basada en algunos de los poemas medievales, nos revela los conceptos tradicionales de la vida y la muerte en la Edad Media.
El programa del concierto se completa con la Sinfonía nº5 de Beethoven, una partitura que representa la grandeza de la música y de su creador: un genio sentimental, agitado e intenso.
