Artista pop de raíces rockeras, lideró el grupo de rock Z 66. A partir de 1970 inició una meteórica carrera musical como solista bajo el nombre artístico de Lorenzo Santamaría.
Es un referente en el pop melódico y romántico español que cosechó aplastantes números 1 y grandes éxitos en distintos países, realizando grandes giras por toda Latinoamérica.
